This gorgeous half tonner is a real piece of sailing history. She is hull number 1, taken from the mould of the legendary original boat rollercoaster. Built by Fairey Allday, England in 1979 (launched 1980) she is a simple, tough solid g.r.p laminate. It is widely thought to be one of only three ever made and not to be confused with the slightly later Trapper 31/950. The boats produced by Trapper did share the same hull but superstructure, cockpit, interior layout, rig etc etc etc were very different.
This is a strong, fast and seaworthy boat with a truly incredible turn of speed in light airs. A delight to sail that has proved to be a great passage maker in all conditions, helped by her original racing layout of no weight in the ends as anything heavy is centrally located. Although not in concours condition she is in good overall condition and is ready to go with far to many new/replaced bits to mention.
A brilliant Yanmar 1gm gets you in and out of the marinas and a large fractional twin spreader, keel stepped aluminium mast by Nordic provides the real horsepower. This Nordic spar is backed up by dyform low stretch standing rigging, Harken twin groove foil, a Selden boom and Selden vang plus running backstays feeding designated winches. There is a full sail inventory made up of a used old racing sails and white sails and a very good set of Quantum fusion racing sails. Last IRC rating 2009 - 0.921
