* * * BOAT NOW UP FOR AUCTION. NEW PHOTOS ADDED TAKEN IN MAY, NEED MORE LET ME KNOW. I'LL BE HAPPY TO FIT SOME NEW WHEELS AND MUDGUARDS TO TRAILER, BUT UNLESS BOAT GOES FOR HIGH PRICE I'D EXPECT BUYER TO PAY FOR THESE. * * *
Classic Flying Fifteen, 193 for sale, offers accepted. I'd like to find a good home for this historic FF. Reason for sale; too many boats. Built in 1956 by Tormentor, this FF is next to HRH Prince Phillip on the boat list (see photo), though they were built in defferent yards in different years.
The boat includes one set of cotton sails (main and jib see photos), in good condition, and one set of dacron sails, good enough for cruising.
The boat is of composite construction, GRP hull painted in the original colour (yes boats were built of GRP before 1960) and wooden deck, in reasonably good condition, needs a sand down and varnish which I'll do in the spring if not sold by then. Varnishes up nicely, but it not immaculate, loots great on the water.
Also included Ronstan mainsheet ratchet block. Aluminium spars in good condition. Road trailer is in solid condition, needs a paint, has new suspension units. I would provide new wheels/tyres in the sale, for the right offer.
Comes with nearly new Pinnell and Bax Weathermax cover. I built a breathable winter cover, comprising small 'rafters' and breathable roofing membrane. I have photos of it, it's very effective, I've dismantled it for the summer now and labelled the parts.
If you're looking for a genuinely classic Flying Fifteen this could be the boat for you. Any other info just ask.
